They have covered this part of our history many times, and list The Puppy Channel show as one of their favorites. You can hear the 15-minute segment about how we got started right here. Or go to the This American Life website to hear the entire hour, and browse through many more of their favorites. Thank you Ira Glass and Molly!
Lest we webdogs lose touch with the power of TV — let's appreciate that NBC's Tampa Bay outlet (WFLA TV8) featured us for two minutes — and the folks in TV-land jumped into thepuppychannel.com — watching videos, joining our Social Puppy Community and signing up for our weekly "Puppy Love News" on our home page. Thank you, TV8! — and kudos to Gayle Guyardo for finding us — and her brilliant production team — and anchors Gayle Sierens and Keith Cate. Woof!
Clearwater, FL—Aug. 5, 2009—CHANNEMALS LLC (CHN), parent to thepuppychannel.com, has deployed first-round funding to add new talent and technology, and to design a far more technically robust site including a "localize-able" social community of pet-lovers and new video sources.
Using investment received in four successive quarters, an expanded strategic plan for CHN's pet-centric, multi-platform media networks was prepared with new partner Scott Carmichael—an industry leader and one of the architects of successful businesses such as JibJab.com, ElfYourself/StarringYou, and Getback.com. Carmichael also has developed web presences and applications for major media conglomerates AOL, The New York Times and Cablevision.
In step with the "Dog Days of August," The Puppy Channel®, CHN's flagship network, now offers three kinds of video.
We made news in at least 50 media outlets, including some vigorous blogging, with our national news release during the holidays, announcing that we are open and accepting video uploads. One of our favorites ran Dec. 27 in The Plain Dealer (Cleveland) on the front page of the entertainment section.

So youre having a bad day. Everything you touch has gone wrong. You need puppies. Thepuppychannel.com can put you in a much better mood and make all your cares go away. The video of border collie puppies meeting a cat will make you laugh out loud. The Web site is even weighing in on the choice of a dog for the new First Family. The originators of the Web site say with these trying economic times, who couldnt use a puppy break?
Thepuppychannel.com recently relaunched with new technology, free video players and White House dog nominations. It bills itself as a Web site dedicated to "all things puppies." Besides giving users an opportunity to upload puppy videos, photos, art and audio, the site lets puppy fans meet one another and share videos and commentary.

If you're like me, you're hopelessly addicted to following the day-to-day adventures of the puppy cam. You'd think they were my own canines by the way I track their every move. Well here's another doggie obsession to take over your life: The Puppy Channel. Serious cuteness with a side of slobber. I dare you to look and not go, "awwww!"08:42 AM November 21, 2008 from web
Link: SittercityPuppy Channel tops our list of web sites to peruse New on the 'net: Pooch parade: If watching a single Puppy Cam isn't enough for you, check out the newly relaunched Puppy Channel, at www.thepuppychannel.com. The site offers professionally edited videos that are "a lot more fun, a lot more varied and more interesting than a single static camera, says Dan FitzSimons, the Cleveland advertising and marketing guy who first dreamed up the channel, for television, more than a decade ago. Its social networking and other features include an invitation for users to nominate the next White House puppy. Politics have their season and financial markets go up and down, FitzSimons said, but Americas love for puppies is constant.

. . . I came across the story of a man who . . . decided it would be great if there was a channel . . . that was pleasant, soothing and void of all the noise that characterizes most television. Dan FitzSimons idea? The Puppy Channel . . .
At first glance, FitzSimons idea made me laugh out loud, especially the Puppy Channel jingles, composed by FitzSimons himself. These songs include: Puppies, Puppies, Puppies I Love the Little Puppies, and Puppies Are Everywhere. . . .
But it looks like FitzSimons may have been on to something. A blog post on The Guardian describes a live puppy cam thats getting tons of hits as the newest internet sensation . . . I was skeptical at first. But, seriously, its kind of the cutest thing ever. I guess FitzSimons was right: people just downright love puppies.
Also, we have a VIDEO of the CHANNEMALSSM founder talking about long-term plans for The Puppy Channel®.
Warning: It's 8 minutes long. And he sings the Puppies, Puppies, Puppies jingle in the first few minutes. (You might want to fast-forward through that.)
Among other things, he talks about The Puppy Channel on TV, which could really happen --- after you've made us a big hit on the Internet!
